Admissions & academic policy.

Who gets in, who teaches, how long a file stays open, and what happens when you disagree with a decision.

1. Admission is reviewed by a person

IWM University is not open-enrollment. Every student file and every faculty file is read by the registrar or the dean before a place is granted. There is no automated admission decision.

Filing an application does not create a student record, a classroom seat or a teaching appointment. Those exist only after an approval is recorded by an admin.

You may hold one open file per role at a time. You can withdraw a file at any moment and re-file later.

2. Email verification

Your email address must be confirmed before a file can be opened. Confirmation links are single-use and expire 24 hours after they are sent.

You can request a fresh link from the notice shown on the admissions and faculty pages. Requests are rate-limited to one per minute to protect deliverability.

Campus mail — decision letters, classroom invitations, timetable notices — is sent to the confirmed address only. Keep it current in account settings.

3. How long a file stays open

An application expires 30 days after it is filed if the registrar has not reached a decision or the applicant has not responded to a request for information.

An expired file is closed, not rejected. You may file again immediately, and prior files remain visible on your standing page for your records.

Classroom invite links carry their own expiry and a single-use seat. A teacher can revoke any outstanding invite at any time.

4. Faculty appointments

Only an admin can hire faculty. Approved instructors are issued a staff number and may then create and run classrooms; nobody else can open a classroom.

Appointments may be suspended or retired by an admin, which immediately ends classroom creation rights while preserving the student records of past sessions.

Appointment is conditional on the applicant's attestations about identity, credentials and background remaining accurate.

5. Academic standing and integrity

Coursework must be your own. Our AI coaches, questions and grades — it does not write for you, and submitting AI-written or another person's prose as your own work is an integrity violation.

Grades and reports are guidance from an advisory tool reviewed by a human instructor. They are not a professional credential, an accreditation, or a guarantee of any outcome.

IWM University is a private training program. It is not an accredited degree-granting institution, and its certificates carry no academic credit transferable elsewhere.

6. Young writers

Applicants under 18 need an active guardian seat with recorded consent before enrollment completes. A guardian can revoke consent at any time, which suspends the seat.

Guardian dashboards show activity, classroom membership and consent state for the young writer they sponsor.

7. Decisions, appeals and records

Every decision letter states the reason and the reviewer's note. To appeal, reply to that letter or write to support@iwritemines.com within 30 days.

We keep application records, decision notes and audit entries for as long as needed to run the school and meet legal obligations. You may request a copy or deletion under our Privacy Policy.
