Legal
Terms, privacy and disclosures.
Plain versions of the agreements that govern this site. The short version: your work is yours, the AI coaches instead of writing, and nothing here is legal advice.
Terms of Use
By using I Write Mines (the "Service"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service, and at least 18 to enter into any paid arrangement. If you are under 18, use the Service only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
You agree not to misuse the Service: no unlawful use, no attempts to break, overload or reverse-engineer the platform, no uploading of material you do not have the rights to, and no use of the Service to produce content that infringes another person's rights.
The Service is provided on an ongoing basis and may change. Features may be added, altered or removed. We may suspend or terminate access for conduct that violates these terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
Your Work — Ownership & License
You own everything you write here. Every manuscript, lyric, outline, note and recording you create or upload remains yours. Ownership is not transferred to I Write Mines, to Alander Pulliam, or to any affiliate, at any point.
You grant us a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license to store, transmit, process and display your content strictly for the purpose of operating the Service for you — for example, saving a draft, syncing it to your account, rendering an export, or generating narration you requested.
We do not sell your work. We do not publish it. We do not license it to third parties. We do not use your writing to train AI models.
You may delete your work at any time. Deleting a project removes it from your library; account deletion removes your stored projects, lesson progress and notes.
Instrumentals and other audio you upload are processed only to produce the coaching output you requested, and are not retained as a public library or redistributed.
AI Disclosure
I Write Mines uses artificial intelligence to coach, analyse, question and diagnose. By design, it does not write your book, your lyrics or your plan for you. Every tool on the platform is built to return direction, structure, questions and craft observations — not finished prose you can paste in as your own.
The Revision Lab demonstrates editing moves on sentences you already wrote. The Beat Studio reads an instrumental's tone, tempo and pocket and returns angles and section jobs. The Tutor asks questions. None of these produce original creative text on your behalf.
AI output can be wrong, incomplete or generic. Treat it as a second opinion from a collaborator, not as fact and not as professional advice. Verify anything that matters before you act on it.
AI features are powered by third-party model providers. Content you submit to an AI tool is transmitted to those providers to generate a response. Do not paste confidential material, personal data about others, or anything under a non-disclosure obligation.
Because AI-assisted material raises questions under evolving copyright rules in some jurisdictions, and because the Service deliberately does not author text for you, your finished work should be your own authorship. You are responsible for confirming that anything you publish or register is original to you.
Privacy Policy
What we collect: account details (email address and the profile fields your sign-in provider returns), your projects and drafts if you choose to sync them, lesson progress, feedback you submit, and basic technical data such as browser type and error logs.
What we do not collect: payment card numbers (handled by a payment processor if and when paid plans exist), and any special-category personal data. Do not enter sensitive personal information into the writing tools.
Local-first storage: by default your projects, placement result, theme preference and lesson progress are stored in your own browser. Cloud sync is opt-in and only runs when you sign in and trigger it.
How we use data: to operate the Service, save and restore your work, personalise your track and lessons, respond to feedback, keep the platform secure, and improve the product in aggregate.
Sharing: we share data only with the infrastructure providers required to run the Service (hosting, database and authentication, and the AI model providers described in the AI Disclosure). We do not sell personal information.
Your rights: you can request access to, correction of, export of, or deletion of your personal data. If you are in the EEA/UK you also have rights to object and to restrict processing under the GDPR. If you are in California, you have rights of access, deletion and opt-out under the CCPA/CPRA — we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined.
Retention: we keep synced projects until you delete them or close your account. Error and security logs are kept for a limited operational period.
Children: the Service is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
To exercise any right, use the contact route in the Contact section below.
Copyright & DMCA Policy
We respect intellectual property rights and expect users to do the same. Do not upload instrumentals, text or artwork you do not have the right to use.
If you believe material on the Service infringes your copyright, send a notice that includes: your signature (physical or electronic), identification of the copyrighted work, identification of the material claimed to be infringing and where it is located, your contact details, a statement of good-faith belief that the use is unauthorised, and a statement under penalty of perjury that the information is accurate and you are authorised to act.
We will remove or disable access to material that is the subject of a valid notice and will terminate repeat infringers. A user whose material is removed may submit a counter-notice.
Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
No professional advice. Industry material on this site — including label, publishing, split-sheet, sync, submission and contract guidance — is educational commentary drawn from experience in the music and entertainment business. It is not legal, financial, tax or accounting advice, and no attorney-client relationship is created. Consult a qualified attorney before signing anything or registering rights.
No outcome guarantee. Nothing here promises publication, a record deal, placement, representation, sales, royalties, streams or income. Results depend on your work, your market and factors outside anyone's control.
Third-party material. Lessons may reference or embed third-party videos and resources. We do not control and are not responsible for that content.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, I Write Mines, Alander Pulliam and any affiliate are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data or lost creative work. Our total aggregate liability is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred US dollars.
Back up your work. While we take care with storage, you are responsible for keeping your own copies — use the export tools.
Acceptable Use
Do not use the Service to create or distribute material that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, hateful, or that sexualises minors.
Do not attempt to make the AI tools produce finished creative work in place of your own authorship, or to circumvent the coaching-only design.
Do not scrape, resell, sublicense or white-label the Service, its lessons or its industry material without written permission.
Payments, Plans & Refunds
Where paid plans or purchases are offered, prices are shown before checkout and payment is processed by a third-party processor. We do not store your card details.
Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled and can be cancelled at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
Refunds: if a paid feature does not work as described, contact us within 14 days of purchase and we will make it right or refund the charge. Digital exports already generated and downloaded may be excluded where local law permits.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these documents as the Service changes or the law requires. Material changes will be reflected here with a new effective date; continued use after an update means you accept it.
