Mr AP, The session grid: Session grid. This is the check your engineer does the second your beat lands in their session, so do it first. Drop the instrumental, turn the click on, and watch the waveform against the bar lines. Every hit I hear gets a dot along the bottom — a red dot means it sits more than twelve milliseconds off the grid. If it holds from bar one to the last bar with the click, nobody in the studio is going to tell you the beat is off.
